I've started re-drawing "when eyes speak" last night.
I know I can improve the currently most viewed piece in my gallery.
After having sketched out with the regular pencil function (used a light red for the sketch) then added a blue layer and erased the area for the characters, then a new layer putting in the flat colors.
Once the sketch was merged with the bg and the fg colors, then I proceeded to touch up with the paint brush using the applied colors for reference.
It's already some improvement on the previous "when eyes speak" which to me now looks very rushed and sketchy.
That one was a play with light in oC, this remake however was a exercise with digital painting.

took me maybe 5 hours... can't recall.

I know I'll be able to do better than this later on :P

of course I forgot to mention that the characters of Jonny Quest belong to Hanna-Barbera, now part of Warner Bros.

I like it. I gotta say the way you did things this time, for some reason, I feel it makes Jonny seems a lil younger then he was in the drawing this is based off/improved from. Still looks great tho :)

agreed on that. I'm not as pleased with the base image as most people seem to be.
Been keeping up me practice in style methods, and it kind of shows in the playbacks as I am watching now... there was a lot of sketching and erasing and re-sketching.
The idea though of course is aging them slightly for their maturity, thus the height advantage Jonny is ending up with.
Still was unsure of what to do for bg. This will do till I try again :P

I really like how Jessie came out in this one. Her face seems more dainty and younger compared to the last drawing if that makes any sense. I also like the slight height advantage Jonny has in this as well as his facial expression. Although, I love the sketchy look of the last one, this is a great improvement. Great job. :)
